Manager Paul Tisdale has said he’s pretty pleased with a point from the Southend game because he was delighted to see us be a real threat on the day.

With good chances falling to both sides, on the balance of play our manager thought it was a fair result, but as he spoke to the Official Site there were clearly plenty of positives he could take from it.

‘It was a fair result, let’s be honest – they were the better team in the first half and deserved the lead, we were the better team in the second and deserved our goal. I feel robbed because we were the stronger side at the end of the game, so that’s how it feels. But if you look at it objectively they were the stronger in the first half and were a lot better than us, even if they didn’t create many clear chances.’

Tisdale goes on to say again that with Exeter finishing the game on top and looking good value for the win at that stage he’s disappointed we didn’t manage to pull it off but he’s liking the consistency we are ending games with now on a regular basis because we are looking at real threat and looking like we can continue scoring and picking up the wins.

As for the performance, he admits we weren’t set up positionally in the right manner in the first period but the second half changes more than helped us get back in the game, so he was pleased to see those tweaks and changes pay off for us but the point does draw the line under the Coventry and Hartlepool results and he’s hoping we can kick on again now in search of another victory.
