Exeter City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Hiram Boateng in the two nil victory over Accrington Stanley at the weekend at St James Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Boateng was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Exeter City’s Boateng capped a Man of the Match display with his first Grecians goal, in their 2-0 success on home turf against Accrington Stanley. The 21-year-old struck on the stroke of the interval with an expertly placed effort into the top corner, before Pierce Sweeney sealed things four minutes from time.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Boateng for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

David Forde (Cambridge United), Luke Waterfall (Lincoln City), Liam Cooper (Leeds United), Sean Morrison (Cardiff City), Albert Adomah (Aston Villa), Hiram Boateng (Exeter City), Max Power (Wigan Athletic), Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United), Dominic Samuel (Blackburn Rovers), Matej Vydra (Derby County), Ivan Cavaleiro (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
