City set for Southampton trip

Exeter City are set to play their first game since the 18th December as they travel to St Mary`s to face Southampton.

Troy Archibald-Henville returns from a one match ban to give Paul Tisdale a fully fit squad to pick from.

Southampton will be hoping that Danny Butterfield recovers from a gashed leg he picked up against Huddersfield last time out. Victory could see The Saints move into the automatic promotion places for the first time this season.

In this fixture last season goals from Lloyd James, Neal Trotman and Papa Waigo helped Saints to a 3-1 success over the Grecians.

The game sees Tisdale return to the club where he spent 8 years as a player. Speaking to Radio Devon:

‘I’ve got fond memories of playing for Southampton and spending a lot of my time there, so I’m definitely looking forward to this particular game.

‘Obviously we’re there to get a result, but it will be an enjoyable day for me whatever.

‘It’s a big game, there’s no doubt about it, and Southampton are playing some really good football so I’d imagine a big, big occasion.’
