Manager Paul Tisdale has said that he thought our performance today against Plymouth was ‘robust, positive and purposeful’.

It’s a happy weekend for all associated with Exeter as we came out three one winners in today’s derby win over Plymouth thanks to goals from Aaron Davies, Alan Gow and man of the moment Scot Bennett.

The game wasn’t as easy as the final scoreline suggests as Exeter went into the half time break level, as the match was extremely tight, but we came out the blocks in the second half and took the lead, although we still had to wait until the final ten minutes before two further goals secured the three points and bragging rights.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match Tis talked about his pride in the players and his obvious delighted at the win and all three points and he said he felt it was a very good game overall, and that Plymouth more than played their part in a fantastic spectacle for the fans.

‘I often support the merits of Aaron Davies – often they are subtle merits and people don’t always see them. But he has the left side and came into the middle, and that was a fantastic finish, and should give him the world of confidence.’

Despite praising Davies, Tisdale continues to say that it’s actually very difficult today to pick out players for special praise because it really was a team performance again and whilst some players will take the plaudits following the goals, everybody put in a shift and more than contributed to the win.
