Assistant manager Rob Edwards has said that he feels the backbone of the squad carry the necessary experience to help our youngsters through games this season.

With financial issues affecting the playing squad, Paul Tisdale has already said his aim for the season will be to nurture and bring through the younger elements of our squad, and he wants those with experience to be the leaders for them, and Edwards believes that this will work for us this season.

Speaking to the Official Site he explained.

‘We’ve got a spine of experienced players and there’ll be a big responsibility on them to be the motivators, but that’s just the same as it always has been. When I was brought to the club as a player, that was spelt out to me that I needed to help people around me and help the manager by enforcing his messages. That will be expected of all the senior players.’

Edwards adds that it’s not a case of bringing that type of player into the club, because we already have them here – the likes of Danny Coles being highlighted as one of the characters who can help lift the team.
