Exeter recovered from their pasting during the week to get back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Chester at St James Park on Saturday.

Adam Stansfield (22) put the finishing touch to a good Exeter move to give them the lead midway through the first half, although Exeter ‘keeper Paul Jones made a fine save from Kevin Ellison to keep the hosts ahead. With time running out Matt Taylor (88) headed home to secure the points.
