Is Troy our very own Ledley King?

Troy Archibald-Henville is not just a financial nightmare for anyone looking to splash out on a replica shirt sporting the centre-back`s name but the on-loan Spurs youngster, touted by many at White Hart Lane as the next Ledley King, is also Exeter City`s main addition during the winter window.

Having initially signed on loan for a month the deal was quickly turned into a season-long deal after a number of commanding performances in which he showed many similarities to King. He is not only tall and athletic but also quick on the ground, superb in the air and has had to be substituted due to injuries in his last two starts. Sound familiar?

Joking aside, Archibald-Henville (or Archie as many fans have chosen to name him) had an unforgettable debut at Dagenham last month. Having only officially joined the club that afternoon the defender put in a faultless display as the Grecians got back to winning ways with a superb 2-1 victory in the East End.

The signing of Archie was vital after the injury and loss of form of Matt Taylor and Danny Seaborne respectively. The two were linked with January moves away from the club but their various problems may have stopped interested clubs from stepping in for either of our centre-backs.

With these three on our books we seem well covered in this department for the run-in which will include a large number of rescheduled games.

Hi Peter, good to see the player doing so well, After a disappointing spell at Norwich, it could have gone wrong for Troym but it seems he is showing the form and ability we all hoped to see at Spurs. If you are interested in doing a Q & A about his performance let me know on the Spurs site.. Best of luck with the rest of the season.

Thanks for the reply on VS pete, I think T A-H is a player we all have an intereest in and it would be great to see how he gets on, I am guessing thta his fitness issues are a mix of lack of football thi season and the step up from reserve to league football. as a someone who watched Oxford at that level it is a far tougher ane more physical grade than acaemy or reserve football, so this may initially tale its toll..

David Hutton the other player you have on trial is also one rated very highly at WHL, it would be great to seehow he progresses if he joins.

Think he’s hoping for a loan deal (at least thats what ive read in the local press) so that would be a good move. Meant to be very skiful and nippy, sound about right?

Troy has a groin strain we here and may be out for a little while. Keep checking back here and ill hopefully be keeping this site much more up to date as the new editor!
