Easter Monday`s defeat at Tranmere confirmed that Exeter City will be playing League One football next season.

With the season reaching its climax several other clubs have now have had their fate sealed and will join the Grecians in English football`s third tier next season.

Preston`s defeat at home to Cardiff has seen then confirmed as the first side to be relegated from The Champioship. The last time City met Preston was in the 1995/96 season in the old Division 3.

Chesterfield and Bury have both guaranteed promotion from League Two.

It will be the first time that City play at Chesterfield`s new B2net stadium.

Bury will be familiar opposition to Paul Tisdale`s side. The shakers dumped the Grecians out of this season`s FA Cup at the first round stage. Two years ago the two clubs were in direct competition with each other for promotion from League Two, Bury missed out on that occasion.
