Director of Football Steve Perryman has said everybody at Exeter are keen to get back to winning ways when we face Northampton Town this weekend.

With the defeat to Accrington last weekend, our first home reverse in over two and a half months, it was also our third defeat in four league games over the festive period, and Perryman says everybody is keen to draw the line under that now and kick on once more.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the match, he explained.

‘I’ve been aware of the team because we have been looking at Alex Nicholls – I think in their last give games, they only have one player that has played all five which suggests things are not going quite right for them or they’re having more than an average degree of injuries. But I like the manager, he always has a good set up about his team. They always have an attacking style and a willingness to go forward. We like that – we don’t like teams that sit in and just defend against us. So we’re looking forward to the game.’

Perryman goes on to say that results for them don’t give them much momentum coming into the game but undoubtedly they will be looking for a good result to get 2015 going for them properly, but equally so are we as we want to get back to winning ways and add to our home record.

‘We’ve had one or two slight knocks that have meant players have missed one or two training sessions, but everyone is back today, so we’re hopeful of having a full group available and pressing for places. Of course the last game was a disappointing result, especially as late as it comes. There’s no good time to concede, everyone is anxious to get back to winning ways.’
