Player of the season award draws near

After tomorrow’s final League One game of the season at St James’ Park the player of the season presentation will take place.

Over the past few weeks fans have been voting for their top performer of the 2010-11 campaign.

There have been several stand out performers for the Grecians this term. Jamie Cureton is the clubs top scorer with twenty goals in all competitions. He is the first player to reach this landmark since Richard Logan in 2008.

Ryan Harley has had an excellent season again in midfield, he was particularly impressive at the start of the season. Harley has fifteen goals and countless assists to his name.

In defence, Scott Golbourne, Steve Tully and Richard Duffy have all played at a consistently high level and will come into the reckoning. As will young midfielder’s Liam Sercombe and James Dunne – both of whom have prospered under Paul Tisdale’s management.

Last season the award was won by captain Matt Taylor.
