A fixture change, a new signing, and maybe a return for Clinton Morrison.

The game at St James Park against Stevenage in October has now been put back a day following it’s selection by Sky Sports for screening.

The game was originally set for Saturday October 10 but it will now take place on Sunday October 11 and kick off at the earlier time of 12.15pm.

Following a successful trial, 29 year old Will Hoskins has now signed a permanent deal at the club following his release by Oxford United over the summer.

Speaking to the Official Site after the largely expected deal was concluded, manager Paul Tisdale said.

“Will is a player that we have pursued for some time. He may have had a difficult time over the past couple of seasons with injuries, but he really has impressed us in his short time here on trial. We won`t expect too much from him too soon – He will be competing for a place on the bench for the time being as we look to ease him back to match fitness.’

In quotes carried by the Exeter Express and Echo the gaffer also confirmed that 36 year old Clinton Morrison was now back with us in training and could be offered a new deal as the door wasn’t shut on the former Republic of Ireland international.

‘Clinton is back. I invited him to come back to training over the summer. He was unable to come back for the first couple of weeks, but he was able to come back last week. Like I have said all along – and I have been true with what I have said, it wasn’t to humour him or the supporters – the door is open and has been all along and I have an open mind to him returning. As I said at the end of last season, you have to put in a retained list and, at that time, I had priorities in the squad and I couldn’t commit to some areas until I knew exactly what I had in all areas.’

Tisdale went on to say that as we stand with the squad and budgets now is a good time for him to return and everyone can speak and then we can make up our minds.

‘I have an open mind as to what happens and hopefully so does he. He is very well respected in the dressing room and I will give it a couple of weeks and see how he trains and we will go from there, but it’s nice to have him back.’
