Exeter City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jayden Stockley in the four one victory over Morecambe at the weekend at St James Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Stockley was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Another striker to help himself to two goals and an assist was Stockley, the star of the show as Exeter moved back level on points with Notts County at the top of Sky Bet League Two. He was too hot to handle for visiting Morecambe, unleashing an emphatic finish for his first, and scoring the division`s goal of the weekend to add to his tally.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Stockley for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
