Exeter City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jake Taylor in the three one nil victory over Doncaster Rovers at the weekend at the Keepmoat Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Taylor was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘An all-action performance from Taylor helped Exeter secure a Play-Off place, as they knocked Doncaster Rovers off their perch with a stunning 3-1 win at the Keepmoat. After a fine first-half display in the centre of midfield, the 25-year-old then switched to right-back, looking equally assured to stem the hosts` attacking threat.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Taylor for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Connor Ripley (Oldham Athletic), Derrick Williams (Blackburn Rovers), Aden Flint (Bristol City), David Wheater (Bolton Wanderers), Christian Burgess (Portsmouth), Jake Taylor (Exeter City), Shane Ferguson (Millwall), Craig Gardner (Birmingham City), Curtis Weston (Barnet), Nicky Adams (Carlisle United), Harvey Barnes (MK Dons).

Manager – Nathan Jones (Luton Town).
