Exeter City Summer signing Jake Thomson has yet to start a league game for The Grecians, but he`s pushing hard for a starting berth after another impressive showing in City`s 2-0 reserve team defeat at Plymouth this week.

But Thomson understands that he may have to be patient if he is to become a regular fixture in Paul Tisdale`s starting XI.

Speaking to the EXPRESS & ECHO this week Thomson said:

‘I want to play but obviously it’s difficult at the moment. Steve Tully’s in front of me and he’s playing so well. It’s just a waiting game.

‘You never want anyone in the team to do badly. If they keep performing how they’re performing, then it’s great for everyone involved.’

Thomson could feature this weekend for The Grecians when Carlisle are the visitors to St James’ Park.
