Manager Paul Tisdale has said there is no doubting how good a side Shrewsbury Town are and he knows we will have to be at our best tomorrow when we host them at St James Parks.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game Tisdale pointed to both their current form and position in the League Two table, but also the Capital One Cup run that they had especially where they did more than a credit to themselves against Chelsea after knocking out a number of teams placed in higher divisions – something they have so far repeated in the FA Cup.

With all credit to them, and clearly knowing the strengths and the threats they carry, the gaffer said having played a number of the top teams already on home soil, we do know that we can compete with anybody though as long as we are on our game.

‘I think this is akin to Bury – it has the same feel to it and they play the same sort of system. They have good, effective, strong players with some real talent in their midfield. I see it being on a par with that. They are a good team at the moment – they have been extraordinarily good at home – fortunately we’re not playing them at their home this week! They can’t be anything other than a good team if, with a third of the season played, they are in the top two. We expect a tough game.’

Tisdale goes on to say that although we can take confidence from our performances against the better sides so far this season, we should’t take that for granted and he knows our preparation work for the match will have to be spot on and he’s confident that will be the case because we have our own ambitions this season as well.

‘I think we have the opportunity to beat every team in this league. That’s not to say that we will, but I don’t see us having any less chance of beating a top team than a bottom team. We’ve confident that we can prepare ourselves and be ready for the challenge.’
