Manager Paul Tisdale has admitted he is disappointed again following our loss to Northampton Town in midweek as he really wanted to see us build on the draw we achieved against Dagenham and Redbridge in our last match.

Speaking to the Official Site following the narrow one nil loss, the gaffer said.

‘It’s very disappointing and the table doesn’t look great, but we have to keep our nerve. I have to make sure on the training ground we keep doing the best we can. We have to deal with the anxiety better than we did in that last period. You’ve got to get the first goal and keep a clean sheet – there are some basics there we have to do.’

Tisdale says the very disappointing thing from the game was that he felt we started brightly, but we just failed to get our noses in front when we were on top and our battle at the moment is in scoring more than we concede and unfortunately we have a fantastic habit of conceding more than we score and we have done for quite a while.

But the way we started more than gives him belief we can turn this around, but we need to stop talking about it and actually do it.

‘We missed a golden chance with David Wheeler in the first 20 minute period, and in the first half and hour we looked strong and competent and Northampton looked very nervous. That was completely different to the last half hour.’

Unfortunately for Tisdale he knows he can pinpoint the moment they scored their goal as the moment we lost the grip on the match, as we were then nervous and shaky and we just didn’t finish strongly at all.

We need to learn to bounce back far better than we are, and we know we can do it as we did it against Dagenham when they took the lead.

What we can’t do, as the manager says, is give up.
