Manager Paul Tisdale has said he was delighted with our two one victory over Wycombe Wanderers, mainly because it keeps our run going and confidence high.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, the manager was delighted to see us keep our momentum going, and following the Hartlepool defeat, a draw at Southend, getting back to winning ways wasn’t to be sniffed at either.

‘I’m very pleased because it keeps our run going over the past seven or eight games. Having lost the last home game, it gives us another boost and a gain in points. I’m also pleased because Wycombe have had the upper hand over us in the last few seasons, they’ve outmuscled us, but we knew what to expect.’

Tisdale goes on to say that another source of delight was the fact that we battled back from a goal behind, so for him he knows it points to the spirit and confidence we now have in the camp.

‘I’m pleased we came back from a goal down, I’m pleased because we hung in there when we weren’t great and they were overpowering us. We gradually got back into the game and I’m pleased for the players who played really well.’

The gaffer goes on to admit that that our first goal and the leveller was a scrappy one, which was unlike us normally, but he thought it was a ‘great goal in a scrappy sense’ from David Wheeler and then the winner by Scott Bennett was the icing on the cake.

‘many aspects of the game I enjoyed and it keeps us going and keeps us gaining points, as we have done regularly over the last seven or eight games.’
