With his midfield underperforming on Saturday, Paul Tisdale has hinted that Bertie Cozic could make a first team return after an appearance on the bench at Chester.

Gill, Harley and Edwards were all out of sorts on the weekend and after a string of impressive reserve performances Cozic could reclaim a midfield spot he lost after a red card in Morecambe.

Cozic has 5 starts to his name this season and in my opinion has never covered himself in glory. Tisdale believes he offers ‘something different’ but his attributes of power and muscle are very similar to those of Manny Panther who has shone in recent matches and I strongly believe Cozic will not add anything to our midfield. But in Tisdale we trust.

Tisdale told the Express & Echo: ‘Bertie has done well for the reserves and has done what he is good at.

‘He is coming strong again and that is the way the squad works ? some suffer a dip in form and others come back with the bit between their teeth. Bertie is on the verge of getting back in there.’

‘Bertie is someone who brings something different to the team and gives me an opportunity to change things about a bit.’

City reserves are in action this afternoon, with Jack Obersteller and Troy Archibald-Henville expect to feature and possibly Craig McAllister although Ben Watson is again ruled out through injury.
