Exeter’s Carling Cup Dreams Over

Exeter were unable to safely negotiate the 1st round of the Carling Cup so any dreams of a real plum 2nd, or even 3rd round, opponents are now gone.

With many of the ‘bigger boys’ entering into the league cup in the 2nd round Exeter would have hoped of securing one of these, better still gaining a place in the 3rd round, when the ‘bigger boys still’, the premier league sides playing in Europe, enter into the fray.

It was not meant to be though as they crashed out to Ipswich on Tuesday after losing 3-2 at home, after extra time.

Did you think that Exeter would win, or was your money on Ipswich anyway?
