Manager Paul Tisdale has admitted that he was disappointed with the result against Mansfield yesterday and he was just as disappointed with our showing in the first half.

Speaking to the Official Site Tisdale admitted that trailing two nil at the half time break, he was more pleased with how the players reacted in the second period but it was a case of too little too late in terms of fighting back and taking something from the game.

It also represents our fourth defeat in the opening six games and Exeter are firmly rooted to the bottom of the table, but with so many games left to play and so many points to fight for it’s not time to panic yet – but clearly there has to be a turn around sooner rather than later.

‘I’m disappointed with the result, but I’m more disappointed with the way we played in the first half and the way we started the game. We’ve certainly got some concerns about where we sit in the table, but the bigger concern is how we can produce a better performance than we did in the first half because that was substandard. But I am concerned about where we are in the league – of course I am.’

Tisdale goes on to say that for him, there are no excuses for our first half shift and it’s not acceptable nor good enough and he we clearly need to do a lot better than that in the future if we want to get the points and move the club to where we want to be in the table.
