Exeter City twice lead but were still beaten by a resurgent Yeovil at St James` Park.
Jamie Cureton scored once each side of a Sam Williams header to give the Grecians a 2-1 half-time lead.
But Dean Bowditch struck twice in six second-half minutes to complete a dramatic turn around and condemn City to their sixth home defeat of a topsy-turvy season.
Jamie Cureton came into the game looking for his 200th career league goal and the in-form striker didn`t have to wait long to claim it. Latching on to Ryan Harley`s through ball Cureton saw his initial shot saved but had the presence of mind to react quickly and tap home the rebound giving City the lead on 25 minutes.
With half time just moments away the two teams traded goals. First Williams rose highest to nod in Yeovil`s equaliser. His bravery came at a cost though as moments after scoring Williams fell and suffered a suspected broken shoulder.
Cureton immediately restored City`s lead four minutes into first-half stoppage time. Yeovil allowed Scott Golbourne`s hopeful ball forward to bounce and Cureton pounced, beating two defenders to the ball and lifting it over the advancing keeper into the empty net.
City should have kicked on and made the game safe but instead Yeovil produced an unlikely comeback.
Ben Hamer rashly came for a cross that he couldn`t reach and gifted Bowditch Yeovil`s second equaliser on 58 minutes.
And six minutes later Yeovil took the lead for the first time in the match when Hamer could only parry John Obika`s shot into the path of Bowditch who tapped home from close range to score what proved to be the winner.
City tried in vain to snatch a late point. Marcus Stewart wasted the best chance, fluffing his lines from six yards after good work by Harley down the left.
This was another mystifying, naive home performance that must be concerning to Paul Tisdale.
Having played so well to account for Bournemouth and Rochdale without conceding a goal, old bad hobbits seemed to creep back into this display.
A win would have put City ninth but it wasn`t to be and they must settle for twelfth position in League One going into next weekend`s trip to out of form Colchester.
What sort of performance City will produce in that game is anyone`s guess.
