With every club in Lague Two having played one game, City boasted the seventh highest opening attendance of the season.

2007/08

In the 2007/08 season, the average League Two crowd was 4,337.

The best supported club were Bradford (pictured), whose average attendance of 13,694 – helped by a sensible policy of low ticket prices – was 57% up on the previous season.

City’s Blue Square Premier average of 3,705 would have put is in 15th place in the L2 table.

2006/07

Swindon were best supported with an average of 7,419. Eight clubs failed to reach the 3,000 mark.

2005/06

Carlisle were the crowd kings, averaging attendances of 7,218. Oxford were relegated from the League despite an average gate of 5,443.

2004/05

Swansea’s average of 8,458 was the highest, followed by Bristol Rovers with 7,077 and Yeovil with 6,320. Shrewsbury, in their first season back in the League, averaged crowds of 4,251.

2003/04

An incredible 16,847 average gate helped Hull to promotion, and set them on the path to the Premier League. Huddersfield also averaged over 10,000. Yeovil and Doncaster on their return to the League averaged around 6,000 and 7,000 respectively.

2002/03

City bombed out of the League with the 15th highest L2 average crowd of 3,763 (a little higher than also-relegated Shrewsbury). Hull were best supported with an average of almost 13,000.
